Lorraine and Gemma recently attended Indie Beauty Expo London 2018 and filmed a short vlog to share some thoughts with you about their visit.
We were excited to see so many Formula Botanica graduates exhibiting their brands at the Indie Beauty Expo which was held on 24-25 October at the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, London. In addition, we met dozens of Formula Botanica students who were there as visitors. Together, our presence helped spread the word about the Formula Botanica world to the wider community of green beauty advocates and formulators.
Indie Beauty Expo’s (IBE) mission is to provide a platform to recognise, showcase and celebrate independent beauty brands and to support the growth and success of the entrepreneurs behind them. This was certainly clear from their inaugural London exhibition which saw brands attending from all over the world.

- Dewi Kauw from Skin Dewi in Indonesia.
- Baljinder Kaur from Adarci London in the UK, who launched her new brand at Indie Beauty Expo London!
IBE was founded by celebrity esthetician, Jillian Wright, and entrepreneur, Nader Naeymi-Rad. IBE was established to help the fast-growing category of indie brands connect to buyers, press, consumers and investors. Unsatisfied with the options available, Jillian and Nader formed IBE to provide a solution specific to market-ready indie brands.
We interviewed Jillian back in 2015 when IBE had just started, so it was wonderful to be part of their first ever European event with Indie Beauty Expo London. Their next European stop is Berlin in March 2019, when indie brands from Germany and further afield will be exhibiting their indie beauty formulations.
