What you will learn

The free training is one video covering four lessons. Here is what each one covers.

Formulating a botanical face cream

Everything you thought you knew about skincare is wrong

Most people have never seen professional skincare being made. You’ll watch an organic face cream being formulated from scratch. We’ll use simple equipment and botanical ingredients such as orange blossom water, almond oil and sea buckthorn berries. A finished cream like this would easily retail for $30–50 a jar.

After ten minutes, you’ll understand that formulation is a learnable, beautiful craft. That’s why, for thousands of our graduates, it has become an entirely new career.

The botanical ingredient table

What’s really inside your skincare

You’ll receive a tour around a formulation lab overflowing with botanical ingredients: plant oils pressed from seeds and fruits, hydrosols distilled from flowers, active botanical compounds sourced from around the world.

You’ll learn the five ingredient groups behind every professional formulation, and find out what the mainstream beauty industry strips out, bleaches away, and never talks about. By the end of this lesson, you’ll never look at your skincare label the same way again.

The professional formulation lab

What nobody tells you about making skincare

Most people who start formulating piece it together from tutorials, blog posts and guesswork. In Part 3, you’ll find out what they’re missing: preservation, safety limits, stability testing and regulatory compliance. Four areas that every professional formulator understands, and most hobbyists have never heard of.

None of this knowledge is reserved for chemists. All of it is learnable. But you do have to learn it.

Formula Botanica graduate brands

What the best formulators in the world all did next

In Part 4, you’ll meet the graduates. These are people who started exactly where you are now, with no professional background, no lab, and no industry contacts. They went on to build award-winning organic skincare brands loved by customers and stocked by retailers around the world.

The only thing that set them apart was that they took the next step. By the end of this part, you’ll know exactly how to take yours.

Ready to find out what comes next?

You’ve watched a botanical face cream being made from scratch. You’ve seen what goes into a professional formulation, what separates it from a recipe you could find on the internet, and what our graduates have built with exactly this knowledge. If any part of this training made you think “I want to do this,” the next step is to tell us a little about yourself.
