Over 25 years ago, Kim Parenteau, the CEO and founder of Canadian luxury skincare brand WILD GRACE, embarked on a life-changing journey of self-discovery. After dealing with several health issues, Kim started exploring alternative medicines and natural healing routes to regain control of her life. That’s when she discovered Ayurveda, an ancient Indian holistic system, which would become the foundation for her plant-based holistic artisan skincare business.
Driven by her passion for Ayurveda, Kim launched her plant-based holistic skincare business in 2019, without any previous formulation or business knowledge. That’s when Formula Botanica came in. After launching her business, Kim decided to turn her skincare crafting hobby into a thriving business, and enrolled in our award-winning Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation.
The course gave her the knowledge and skills she needed to be a successful skincare entrepreneur, as well as the confidence to explore her creative ideas.
“Formula Botanica helped me envisage my brand as a business, rather than as a hobby and gave me the tools needed for success”- Kim Parenteau.
After graduating in 2021, Kim was able to transform her existing skincare brand into a thriving business. She quit her 9-5 job as a graphic designer to focus solely on her passion which changed her life forever.
WILD GRACE’s natural, cruelty-free and vegan products are infused with powerful botanicals, bio-active ingredients, and Kim’s passion for Ayurveda. The brand’s mission is to offer the best skincare, with the best possible ingredients so customers can feel supported, beautiful and nourished, inside out. Her line includes skincare for the dosha types – Ayurvedic energies found throughout the human body and mind – such as body oils, serums, and perfumes; as well as Ayurvedic facial tools.
Beyond the scope of Ayurveda, WILD GRACE also focuses on the ritual of self-care. The “Elixir Serum,” a plumping serum with hyaluronic acid, is the brand’s hero product, but the range has other products to explore, like the “Deep Forest” balm-to-milk cleanser, the “Crystal Facial Mist,” or the “Moon Dust” 2-in-1 exfoliant.
Today, Kim’s brand continues to grow and thrive. Her advice for future beauty entrepreneurs is to “Take the course. It will give you confidence in what you’re creating and sharing with the world.” For Kim, being an entrepreneur is a deeply fulfilling creative process, which allows her to live her dream. And you could do the same.
