This guide is a comprehensive checklist that will get you set up to formulate, show you what’s required to become a formulator and prepare you for online learning.

Formula Botanica is on a mission to teach the world to formulate, which is why we’ve made our foundation course freely available.
All of our graduates started by taking this free access course, which will not only allow you to learn the basics in formulation, but also help you get your home formulation lab set up and get you working with botanical ingredients. Although you’re not a full student yet, you’re getting access to this free course in making natural skincare products which will form the foundation of your studies with us and your future formulation career. And best of all, you can start right now – outside of term time!

Plan your formulation & study budget
Now that you have pre-enrolled, it’s time to prepare your finances.
You will need to pay your fees in full at the point of enrolment and you will also need to budget to purchase ingredients, as well as some basic equipment. Students who have their finances prepared are more likely to succeed with their courses, as they have budgeted properly to start their exciting formulation journey!

Formula Botanica keeps the fees for its accredited and award-winning courses affordable as part of its mission to teach the world to formulate. Unless you enrol for our International Organic Skincare Entrepreneur Program, all course fees are payable at the time of enrolment.

The best part of learning how to formulate is being able to experiment with the wealth of amazing botanical herbs, petals, roots, seeds and leaves. You will need to budget at least half of your course fees to buy ingredients throughout your studies.

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t need lots of expensive equipment to get set up as a formulator. All you need is a simple starter kit (and we’ll tell you exactly what to buy) and a small space to set up your home formulation lab.
