Qasil Beauty is an innovative Kenyan skincare brand that caters for all skin types and is inspired by traditional, clean and sought-after ingredients. One of the most powerful ingredients incorporated into the line of products is the Qasil, made from dried, finely crushed leaves from the gob tree, and one of the best kept beauty secrets among the Somali communities in East Africa. Women from Somalia have been using the leaves of this tree for centuries to exfoliate, soften and brighten their skin. Zahra and Faduma, founders of the brand, thank Formula Botanica for all the knowledge acquired. With the school’s help, they not only learned essential formulation skills, but also met each other and became business partners within the Formula Botanica community. From there, the duo went on to create the amazing skincare products they had always dreamed of, from leaf to the final product.
