The Glo Haus was founded by Alessandra Engel out of a desire to create a community around the beauty and power of plants. Alessandra has had an obsession with beauty and skincare products from a young age, and spent years searching for healthier alternatives to the conventional cosmetic products found on the market. This search led her to study and become certified in aromatherapy as well as skincare and haircare formulation. The Glo Haus has a commitment to empower communities of women in Brazil who harvest and extract oils like buriti, pequi, acai and pracaxi. The Glo Haus believes that less is more and uses 100% pure plant oils in simple and clean formulations.
When Alessandra started studying at Formula Botanica, she was working as a lawyer. Formula Botanica was like a dream come true as cosmetic formulation had always been her passion. She says that having the opportunity to learn about formulation and ingredients was a life-changing experience.
